The number of points to be awarded for a match played depends on the following factors: What ended the match result? (3 points for a win, 1 point for a draw and a defeat 0 points) – M How important was this game? (From the friendlies after the FIFA World Cup) – I How strong was the enemy? (Which takes place in the FIFA Ranking) – T Which continent is the enemy? (Eg, European countries are generally stronger than Asian) – C All of these factors are multiplied among themselves and get points for that match – P P = M * I * T * C * 100 The total number of points for a given country is the average number of points for all games played in the last 4 years with bonus matches played recently. Games played within the last 12 months have a weight of 100%, while those in subsequent years, respectively weighting of 50%, 30% and 20%.
